Al Qai’da in Iraq – Raid

Sunday, May 20, 2007

In the following video, this is what happens when folks fall asleep on guard duty early in the morning, when they should be awake and alert at their posts watching for enemy contact along the avenue of approach. The Iraqi National Guard soldiers who were tasked to guard this checkpoint paid for that mistake with their lives. Notice how as al Qai’da attacks this outpost they are firing machineguns and RPG-7s into the troop tents as Iraqi soldiers are sleeping in them. When folks fall asleep on guard duty, it allows the enemy to wipe entire bases out.

Do Iraqi National Guard soldiers have the discipline to defend their homeland from terrorist organizations such as al Qai’da?
